A Long-Sought Treasure off Malta’s Shore
For a long time past it was frequently rumored that some part of Mediterranean bottom must have been dotted with treasures left after a shipwreck of an expensive ancient vessel. After a few false attempts the curtain was raised: the Phoenician wrecks and the lost valuables from the ship proved to be true. The most exciting thing for those who found it was that a considerable chunk of the treasure was in a well-preserved state.
