A Telephone Booth in the Mojave Desert
In 1960 a telephone booth was placed somewhere in the Mojave Desert. Although, it was not quite in its center and the nearest road was only 13 km away from the booth. It was supposed to serve lost wanderers and miners who worked closed at hand. The popularity of this booth among travelers was enormous. One of them spent 32 days around the booth and had 500 phone conversations including one with Pentagon. Unfortunately, the booth drew attention of wrong people: it was often littered and vandalized and so had to be removed. Only a few movies remind us of this object of the past.
